Pap Smear Program to Support Local Women

 

In a mission to increase women’s awareness on the importance of early detection of cervical cancer, Ametis Villa Bali conducted Pap Smear programme, partnership with BPJS Kesehatan  (Indonesian Social Insurance Administration Organization) and Prodia Laboratory on Wednesday, 21st November 2018.

Prior to the event, on Sunday, 11 November 2018, Ametis Villa Bali invited 230 women from Banjar Canggu for The Pap Smear Socialization.  During the socialization, Ms. Echi, the nurse from Prodia shared the knowledge about how to detect the cervical cancer, also straightened out of misunderstandings about cervical cancer and pap smear itself. After the participants understood about the importance of early detection of cervical cancer, 70 women from Banjar Canggu registered to do the pap smear at Ametis Villa Bali.

Mrs. Echi, the nurse from Prodia says “In Indonesia, the cervical cancer is estimated to appear in 40-45 new cases and 20-25 women die everyday,. It means that every hour, one woman dies because of cervical cancer.”

“We want woman who needs a pap smear but does not have funding to come see us, and we would love to screen her for cervical cancer,” said Mrs. Sevi Adnyani, the Human Resource Manager of Ametis Villa Bali.

Pap Smear was held in one of villa at Ametis Villa, and attended by 34 women from Br. Canggu on 21st November.

Ametis Villa Bali conducts various local community activities as CSR, and plans to conduct Pap Smear program as annual CSR event in the future.

Our stylish design villa have been implementing THK principles, as it is villa management’s mission to introduce the harmonization of Tri Hita Karana to employees, guests and local community. It is the first year of our boutique resort to participate THK award, and its assessment was taken place on 30th October 2018 by assessors from THK association at Villa Alexandrite.

This prestigious award is carefully selected by THK association for eighteen years, to provide hotels and tourist attractions in Bali with the recognition of its commitment towards Tri Hita Karana life concept. Winner of awards will be revealed on 30 November 2018.
